The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) is a denomination that confesses the historic, orthodox Christian faith, a faith built on “the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone” (Eph. 2:20).

The LCMS, headquartered in St. Louis, Mo., is mission-oriented and Bible-based. LCMS doctrine reflects the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther, as summarized in The Book of Concord: The Confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.

The Indiana District is one of 35 districts of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. The Indiana District is NOT the administrative office in Ft. Wayne, but it consists of LCMS congregations, schools and called workers in the entire state of Indiana as well as in 37 counties of northern Kentucky. The administrative office functions primarily to faithfully promote confessional unity in Christ and His Word, carrying out this task not only within the District but also in conjunction with the Synod and each of the other Districts.
