Pastor Shoemaker’s New Stole
In the Lutheran Church, and in many other churches, the pastor wears vestments when leading worship. Vestments were commanded by God in Exodus 28 when God said, “You shall make holy garments for glory and for beauty. These are the garments which they shall make.” Throughout the ages the church has continued to follow this command of God. The vestments our pastor wears are signs of his ecclesiastical office. One of the garments our pastors wear is a stole.
